About the role
We are looking for someone to join the team for 10 hours a week as an Empowerment Worker.
As an Empowerment Worker you will be supporting our tenants who have been homeless. Tenants may be singles or families with support needs and you would empower them towards a fulfilled life.
The initiative has recently purchased its first house for the homeless, and you will also be working with our partner churches to train, equip, encourage for their role in mentoring, befriending and giving practical support to tenants.
Annual Leave: 20 days pro rata plus Bank Holidays & working days Christmas to New Year
About you
For this role, you would be someone with a passion for the homeless and our values, who is able to work with church leaders and church members. You will need to be able to work with tenants with support needs, including poor mental health, past offending, and drug and alcohol dependency issues. We value good listening skills. The ability to work in a flexible team and learn new skills is important as we foster working within a strong supportive team.

About us
We will be providing a home with support for people who are homeless for a variety of reasons, including single people. They may be people recovering from drug and / or alcohol addiction, people who have been in prison and/or refugees
We work in partnership with a variety of Christian churches in Epsom to provide homes with support to help some of the most vulnerable people in the town to rebuild their lives.
Our partner church, Epsom Methodist church, will provide supportive friendship, investment, prayer and a caring community for our tenants
Hope into Action Epsom manage the referral process, the tenancy and house maintenance, and provide ongoing professional support to empower our tenants to make long lasting changes in their lives and ultimately to move on into longer term accommodation. We have a vision of many churches in Epsom lovingly making a home for those without a home.
